Today, I attended Open Enrollment. I put in Aymeric's application for Orangevale Open. It's very unlikely that he will get a spot in that school but at least, I tried! There is a long waiting list and siblings of current students have priority. We'll see what happens.
My second choice is Green Oaks. It's a very good school with very high standards and discipline. I think Aymeric would do better in an 'open' environment but at Green Oaks, there would be Lilly-Marie and Justin...
Finally I have to register him at Pershing, school he should be attending based on district boundaries. We'll secure him a spot in his attributed school so that if he can't get in any of our requested schools, he'll still have somewhere to go!
Open Enrollment is tedious and long. I got there early...so did everyone else!! The whole process took an hour. Filling out the paperwork and getting it processed took 5 minutes, all the rest was...waiting in lines! I know for next time...bring a book...come even earlier!
