Yesterday more concrete was removed then the area was boarded up and gravel was poured.
Today was short...the whole 'chantier' was packed up (rain) and the gravel was completed and covered with a plastic sheet and rebar was placed on top.
The cats are bewildered...where did the cat door go?
The only access to the garage at this point is through the garage door. A sliding door will replace the existing window on the garage side facing the pool.
For the kitchen cabinets, Ikea Adel white has been recommended to us. We will go to Ikea this weekend. I would like to modify the original version and add a few doors with glass panels. We also want a few more cabinets to replace the existing 'pantry' and gain more counter space.
The material for the countertops has not been decided yet...Granite sounds nice but we can probably only afford the big tiles not the slab. Then again, how much care does granite require? Ceasarstone (manmade quartz) was recommended by Anne-Laure but we have not looked into the price yet.
Today's weather is dreadful...it was rain on and off earlier but since 5:00 pm, it's a downpour with heavy winds. We are waiting on permits and inspection before more work can be done.
