Happy New Year

We ended 2011 with the Carberry family. It was the end of another busy week too.  I had a doctor appointment on Tuesday, where I had to drag the kids with me! I got my flu shot in front of them; Kilian said 'awesome' as the needle pierced my skin! I need to go back to do some lab work...I was not going to drag them through that! Zoe got another new tooth. We've been to the park everyday, enjoying the mild winter and sunny afternoons. I went to get fingerprinted and renew my green card on Thursday; the kids stayed at Melanie's house (Zoe's 'daycare lady') and enjoyed their afternoon with Melanie's kids. That evening Lorenzo (our neighbor) spent the night. The kids built a 'bad guy trap' and tinkered with their 'Spy Gear toys'. Kilian passed out early but Lorenzo and Aymeric were up until 1:00 am (and so were we!).
Then we got ready for New Year's Eve. We served finger foods and small dessert bites. The kids played, ran everywhere, made a million and a half pieces of artwork that they tried to display themselves on a board.

They watched a movie and never showed sign of slowing down. They all made it to midnight.

Kilian fell asleep shortly after midnight. Keira, Jacob, Zoe and Aymeric were still up and ready to 'party'. Around 1:00 am, Heather joined us just as I was putting Zoe to bed. Heather had to work that night and came after her shift. Jeremy, Heather and Jacob left around 1:30 and then we tried to get Aymeric and Keira to settle down. Keira finally fell asleep by 2:00 but Aymeric was just way too hyper and trying to get Keira to wake up...so I took him to his room, despite his protest...by 2:30...we all could finally sleep!

The night was short...the first day of 2012 was spent with Keira...Jacob and his dad came in the afternoon. Jeremy helped Michael install the lighting in the almost finished bathroom, while the kids played non stop. We made gingerbread men and decorated them before eating them all up!
Zoe skipped her nap and was truly evil in the evening. She howled herself to sleep! Looks like 2012 will be another busy year!
