State Fair

This year, we took two trips to the State Fair. Now that Aymeric is in school, we can only go during the weekend. So last Sunday morning was our first trip. We went early, which was great because parking was not an issue and there were no lines for the rides! Aymeric is all about the rides. He does not really care about the exhibits. He went on a bunch of rides and Kilian warmed up and followed him on a few. This year, the safety standards were much greater and Kilian did not have much choice on what he could do. Aymeric was not able to go on some of the rides he did last year (height requirement) and there were no kid bumper cars, which was a major letdown!

We saw a gigantic alligator, toured the animal areas with all the cows, goats etc...We ate the yummy caramel corn, went on the monorail etc...This was the first time I did not take a stroller with me so the kids had to walk everywhere and after 4 hours, they were done!!

We went back yesterday. We went late, around 5:00 pm. While there was parking up front, the place was packed! There were lines everywhere: food, tickets, rides...
Aymeric did a few rides and then we went to the Demolition Derby. We went early to get seats and the kids sloppily ate their candy apples while waiting. We only stayed for the first two races and then went to the exhibits. Aymeric got to hold a pretty bird...and it pooped on his hand! He also got to pet a chinchilla. Kilian and I watched part of a magician show. The guy ate a bowl of fire then spit it out...then he swallowed a sword...impressive for a 3 year old!
More rides for Aymeric...Kilian went on one and Michael had to go rescue him...(it was too scary and he would not move to get out) and then it was time for the fireworks! The kids fell asleep in the car right away.
