Saturday, we met up with Grandpa, his sister Wendy and her husband Barron to go to the Sacramento zoo. We were joined by Matt and Tiffany (Grandpa Dennis's son and his wife).
Dennis had invited us to a special event. We got a free lunch at the zoo and goodie bags! The kids had lots of fun at the playground. I thought we'd never go see the animals! Kilian really wanted to see the big birds but got scared of the hornbill once it started making whatever noise it makes! (It sure does not sound like a bird!!).
We got lucky and saw my favorite animals: the red pandas!! Usually they are always asleep or hiding...not this time! I even got a picture!
We moved on to the rest of the zoo...I miss the cheetahs and the polar bear!! The tiger was a no show! I loved the lemurs. They are just too cute!
The kids had fun. Especially at the end because we let them go to the zoo store to pick something. Kilian picked a cheetah cub, Aymeric got a sticky snake and I got a super duper cute red panda!!
Kilian fell asleep on the way back from the zoo! We stopped on our way to check out the newly opened Halloween stores and Aymeric scored some green witch fingers, a squishy spider and a squeaky white mouse (rat?). Kilian was just too afraid to go in!!
It was a long day for the kids and they were dead tired once home! I was hoping they'd sleep in the next morning but that did not happen!
Sunday started at 6:25 and Kilian wanted breakfast NOW! I took him grocery shopping while Aymeric stayed home to play Lego (he was building a special Lego cage for Kilian)
I had lots of work to do today so the kids spent most of their time with Michael. Grandpa came by to gather information about Aymeric's school and daycare. Grandpa will be taking Aymeric to and from school and daycare tomorrow while I attend my staff meeting.
It's been hot this weekend so the kids splashed in the pool and spent some time at the park in the evening. They went to bed exhausted!
Alligator lizard found on the side of the pool...Aymeric caught it and it lost its tail in the process!
